The Future is Social

6-8pm. Sonia Boyce and post-graduate students from Camberwell, Chelsea and Wimbledon Colleges of Art will be in residence at FTHo for 2 weeks. Join us to see how the residency is progressing.


The Future Is Social explores the production of art through collaboration and participation. For two-weeks artist Sonia Boyce and post-graduate students from Camberwell, Chelsea and Wimbledon Colleges of Art (University of the Arts London) will be resident at Flat Time House making social
sculpture from everyday interactions. Through performance, discussion and the creation of art they will consider issues of ownership, the gift economy and the aesthetics of documentation.

The Future Is Social Symposium

To conclude the two-week residency The Future Is Social Symposium will address recent debates about the politics, aesthetics and quality of contemporary art made through collaboration and participation, as well as situating the Experimental Residency in a broader theoretical context.

Speakers will include Paul Goodwin, Zoe Shearman, Rebecca Fortnum, Viv Reiss and David Cross.

The symposium will feature films and performances made during the residency.
